plooptionary - weasel words and bullshit phrases fresh from the reeking bowels of consultants. (3 of 100)

   Today’s phrase is commonly used by people who are so bent double trying not to offend anyone - while trying to hijack other people’s creativity (which is always at the route of a plooptionary entry).

*"Thought Shower": The context, a design agency.  Bill, 48 and totally bewildered by new media, has a pitch for a new tech client in two hours.  He collects together the junior design team.  "OK guys, the XYZ-£ pitch needs an injection of web 2.0 with a social media, red button, YouTube, Myspace overlay.  We’ve got 15 minutes to thought shower this big boy and nail it - Tony (the youngest most inexperienced designer) fire!"

Thought Shower’s entry to the plooptionary is particularly powerful - it’s quite clearly bollocks, means the same as brainstorm but infers the user is far more switched on to those poor people ‘out there’ .

Good suggestions yesterday.  I really felt for Ted who, it appears, sat through a meeting with a senior exec asking to 360 something.  If ever there was a case for a poison pee-shooter - it was there.
