a vision of TV not too many years from now
ITV 8. 2030-2300 - Who’s the Racist?
One-off social experiment come celebrity reality TV show where well-know names from the stage and screen (ie: that bloke from the Halifax advert, those ‘real people’ who do the Homebase adverts and Cillit Bang’s Barry Scott) are put through their paces as we ask, “who’s the racist?”.
By day our contestants make millions being famous. By night we lock them in indivdual padded rooms with only the Daily Mail, a bowl of rice and a wall-long plasma screen playing a loop of Margaret Thatcher’s conference speeches cut with clips of Styker (the Christian rack band) in concert. After three hours our celebrities are asked to wear ear muffs while we show them flash cards from the film Roots. The first one to insinctively bark out the word “nigger” is literally sent to jail, while the winner is allowed to carry Paris Hilton’s bags on her latest shopping tour of L.A.
Channel 5. 2130-2300 - Wasp factory
A sensitive and caring documentary follwing a teenage Ukrainian boy who was raised by a family of wasps. Music by Black Sabbath and Enya.
