ploop publishing

I’d like to let readers and commenters here know that there is someone silly enough in the world of publishing to think the ploop science graphs could be make into a book.

Yep, I’ve had an approach from someone who clearly enjoyed themselves too much in the 60s who thinks the graphs could well make either a short book, a calender or even greeting cards!?  Of course the best graphs are the ones with comments on.  In fact the only graphs worth using are those made better by the comments!  So, subject to a likely delay of 5 or 6 years, I might be getting back to commenters to see if they might be happy to let me use their fine prose in print.  We won’t publish anything without asking (and receiving signatures first) and you’ll all get free copies of whatever it ends up being, I promise.

To that end - we might end up with a little more ‘open source’ graphing where it’s more of a collaboration on a theme.  Christ this is starting to read like a friggin internal memo … now, as you were!

  1. I would definitely consider stealing such a book from a bookshop.

    Congratulations!

This is great news and i agree with said publisher. There is a book, or a small series of mini-books in this.
