Well this one’s taking off really well - I asked “what advice do people have for winning an argument?” (the full intro is here).  The idea was to answer it on your own blog and tag some other blogs so they could answer the question themselves.  The first few entries have been total winners …

J kicked off by suggesting that, when you are pontificating at a cocktail party, and a woman is smiling sweetly at you - She probably thinks you’re an ass. You may ‘win the argument’, but you’ve definitely ‘lost the war’.wins an argument and there is a woman smiling happily, she probably thinks he’s an ass!  She goes onto explain how she uses ‘Julia Ward Logic’ and I suggest you go on to her site to find out more as she goes on to explain how to beat Julie Ward Logic - with stupidity!

We were lucky enough to have the question answered by Johann the Dog and Johann’s mum - tips include “Keep at them until they give up” and “always arm yourself with more facts than the other person” - you can guess which is the mom and which is the dog.
