  1. ROFL!
I teach at a juvenile prison! We don’t get whistles. But, I get a nice radio to clip to my belt. When I want someone to shut up I just make sure the clip snaps nice and loud against the radio as I remove it from my belt. They then get to decide. Shut up or get dragged out by the guards!

The kids are pretty funny about it. They’ll say something like, “Shut the *F* up. He just put a round in his .45!”

  2. For me the strict teachers were the silent but stern ones. Somehow their classes contained a level of menacing silence and foreboding the like of which I have rarely experienced since. PE teachers were always good whistlers (I think it was in the job specs).

  3. Yo! You don’t know how apt that is… little prince’s new teacher has a VERY LOUD whistle.

    Say no more…

  4. My strict teacher never really used a whistle…just the back of her hand when some kids (like me) pissed her off. That was 3rd grade (I was about 8).
