I’ve been pootling around on twitter for a while now. I like it. In fact, you can follow me here. Not that I’d recommend it, as I just update with drivel. But, as an immediate way for people to update it’s superb. Here’s why; you don’t have to have a computer. And, in places like Africa (and China) there is not a huge mass of people with computers but there is vast saturation of mobile phones. That’s where twitter is clever – it allows people to broadcast to a large audience via their mobile phone. I’s be fascinated to see twitter updates from people voting in Zimbabwe for example, from inside Tibet etc … Twitter offers a voice because it uses what most people have, a mobile. For me, that’s powerful. Below I’ve doodled it graphically …
I know, I know. I really should be blogging about Labour’s collapse in the UK. It’s really desperate. The only party (likely to be elected) with heart and they blow it. Now, all the closet tories who’ve been too worried of showing their colours are starting to look smug. Jesus, even Jim Davidson and Paul Daniels might not take their own lives and that’s a dreadful pity. But you know what? I’d be letting down the people at humor blogs if I didn’t turn my back wholeheartedly on that and have a look at the market for bottled water.
